 Materik is a Certified Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business based out of San Diego, California. 

 With more than 25 years of hands-on experience in high-stakes IT and OT environments, Erik Jessen founded the company. He got his start with six years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force, then spent 20+ years as a Department of Defense civilian supporting both Air Force and Navy systems. That background shaped his practical, security-first approach to technology—and a strong belief in getting the job done right.

Erik holds an MBA, a bachelor's in Business Administration, and another in Criminal Justice with a focus on Cybercrimes. He also maintains a CISSP (ISC2), Security+ (CompTIA), and DAWIA Level III certification.

Today, Erik leads the team at Materik to deliver smart, secure, and scalable IT solutions—from cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure to industrial control systems and enterprise support. His goal is simple: help businesses stay connected, protected, and ready for whatever’s next.
